During your consultation, the goal is to understand your unique needs, answer your questions, and ensure that my support is the right fit for your family. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Introduction and Background

We’ll begin by getting to know each other. You’ll have a chance to share a bit about your family, your baby, your birth experience, and any specific concerns or goals you have. I’ll also briefly explain my approach to postpartum support and sleep training.

2. Understanding Your Current Situation

I'll ask about:

  • How your postpartum recovery is going (emotionally and physically)

  • Feeding preferences and routines (breastfeeding, bottle, combo)

  • Sleep habits and challenges

  • Daily routines and support systems in place

3. Overview of Services

I’ll walk you through:

  • What postpartum doula support includes (emotional support, baby care, feeding guidance, light household help, etc.)

  • My philosophy and methods for sleep training (gentle, responsive, developmentally appropriate)

  • How services are tailored to your family's needs

4. Questions & Concerns

This is your time to ask anything—whether you're unsure about sleep training methods, looking for newborn care tips, or wondering what overnight support might look like.

5. Next Steps

If you’re ready to move forward, we’ll talk about scheduling, service agreements, and creating a care or sleep support plan. If you need more time, I completely understand—there’s no pressure.

What Services do you provide as a postpartum night doula?

Here’s how I can help:

  • I’ll care for your baby overnight—feeding, changing, soothing, and comforting them—so you can get much-needed rest. You’ll wake up feeling refreshed, knowing your baby is in good hands.

2. Breastfeeding Support

  • If you’re breastfeeding, I’m here to offer support with latch, positioning, and any challenges you might face. I’ll help you feel more confident and comfortable with your breastfeeding journey.

  • The postpartum period can bring a mix of emotions, and I’m here to listen. Whether you need someone to talk to or simply need reassurance, I offer a caring, non-judgmental space for you to share what’s on your mind.

5. Light Household Help

  • I can take care of simple tasks around the house—like restocking the nursery, washing/sterilizing bottles/pump parts, or tidying up baby gear—so you can focus on recovering and bonding with your little one.

6. Sibling Support

  • If you have older children, I’ll help them adjust to their new role as big siblings, offering gentle support and making sure they feel included and loved during this big transition.

7. Newborn Care Education

  • I’ll guide you through the basics of baby care, from swaddling to soothing techniques, so you feel more confident and prepared as a parent.
